Ep. 48 – Giving Reboots the Boot

Did you miss us?

The Happy Xen Podcast returns after Summer break, diving head first into pop culture controversy with the dreaded REBOOT! In this episode we go over what is good,  bad, and just plain unneeded with reboots. Plus we get into the differences (and which we prefer) between a reboot, a remake and the long after sequel. Will you agree with Adam or Matt? Or are they both completely off the mark? We also pay tribute to the late great Chadwick Boseman, fill you in on what we’ve been up to over these past couple of months, and what’s been happening in the world of geek and pop culture! So listen in once more as we continue to fill your ears with our Xennial point of view on The Happy Xen Podcast!

Ep. 47 – Anarchy Rules, With Special Guest Jason Anarchy!

He’s back!

After over 2 years, the long awaited return of Canadian superstar game designer Jason Anarchy is finally here! Jason was one of our favourite guests during the early days of the show, so we were so excited that he was able to join us to talk about his new game up on Kickstarter called Your Friend is Sad.

Jason walks us through this crazy, (and strangely fitting in our current time) new game about cheering up a sad friend, and how it came to be. Plus we discuss how his career has had to adapt due to the pandemic, and how he relaxes when he’s got a little down time. We also introduce a new segment called the Speed Round that you don’t want to miss!  So listen in once more as we continue to fill your ears with our Xennial point of view on The Happy Xen Podcast!

Ep. 46 – Furious At The Fast

Welcome back!

Well we knew this day would finally come. Adam has watched all of The Fast And The Furious and is ready to let loose! Will Matt be able to keep calm? Is this the end of the dynamic duo? No it’s not, but we certainly did have an interesting chat about the much maligned action series, and you don’t want to miss it!

Plus we give our picks on what we’ve been doing to keep sane during this never-ending pandemic, including some film and game recommendations. Adam tells us what he’s learned so far in League of Legends and how things have been going on that front. All this and we talk about the recently released Snyder Cut teaser trailer, the upcoming DC FanDome and PAX Online conventions, Tenet coming to theatres and much more! So listen in once more as we continue to fill your ears with our Xennial point of view on The Happy Xen Podcast!

Ep. 45 – Gaming During The Pandemic, With Special Guest Sarah Wagg!

Hello Hello!

The world is socially (and physically) distancing, so what is there to do?

Joining Adam and Matt on this episode is a returning special guest to talk gaming in quarantine. We sit down virtually with the Manager of the Durham College Esports Arena, Sarah Wagg! Our hosts talk to Sarah about how this pandemic is bringing gaming and esports to the masses via mainstream media, and celebrity endorsement. We also discuss how gaming has been a great coping mechanism for anxiety and stress during isolation for so many. All this plus, the rise of Animal Crossing, concerts in virtual worlds, and of course Adam slags on Fast 9 yet again. So listen in once more as we continue to fill your ears with our Xennial point of view on The Happy Xen Podcast!
